Pressvigil is a small place for the work people make on their own. You follow the people you want to follow, and what shows up that day is what they published — a photograph, a paragraph, a drawing, a draft essay, a finished object. There is no algorithm tuning for engagement, no infinite scroll dragging you past the work you came for. The day closes when they stop posting, and the feed closes with it.

How it's different
Four small choices, kept.
None of these is a feature in the usual sense — each is a rule the rest of the product respects. You don't toggle them on, you don't toggle them off, and there is no premium tier that quietly turns them back on. They are written down once and held to.
You pick the room. It stays your room.
The feed is built from the people you actually follow — writers, illustrators, photographers, designers, the occasional video essayist. There is no “for you” rail, and there is no discovery slot quietly putting strangers next to the work you came to look at.
The day has a bottom.
Posts accumulate, then stop. When you reach the end, the feed has ended — no infinite scroll, no autoplay, no second page that quietly turns into a fourth. You decide when you are done, and the network agrees to stop there.
A post stands on what it says.
No like counts in the main view. No streak badges. The feed doesn't optimise toward the kind of writing that performs well in outrage — there isn't an algorithm here, only the work you publish, in the order you would have hand-chosen.

Followers and posts are yours to take with you. Pressvigil is the room you publish in, not the lock-in that decides where the work has to live. Subscriptions, paid posts and tips settle directly between you and the people who follow you.
